Adding Sleeves to a Strapless Dress, Sneak Peek

Sewing, ThriftingHaley SwanComment

My sister is getting married in Portland in TEN days, which means I'm running all over the place with a pre-travel to-do list as long as my arm. Make sure rent is paid before I leave town, ask someone to water the plants, start packing, etc., etc. But the biggest thing on my to-do list (and the one I've been procrastinating the most) was getting my dress ready for the wedding.

I found this AMAZING chiffon purply-pink gown at my local Goodwill for $3. THREE DOLLARS. (Gotta love Goodwill SoCal's sales!) But it was a fixer-upper of sorts: three inches too long and needed sleeves. I finished hemming it and started work on the sleeves last week and finally forced myself to finish it up this afternoon. I'll do a longer post explaining how I added the sleeves and showing off the final product in all its glory, but, for now, here's a sneak peek!
